This feature was designed to give a more professional look to the Fuse Morf feeds that get generated. Before this feature was launched the feeds “description” tag had default text that described the feeds that were fused to make this new feed.

This was all well and good unless you wanted tpo disguise the feeds that were used. This then gives you an alternative to that. So all you do is fill in the description box and it will be added to the description tag.

Right I have been working on a simple yet incredibly useful tool for the RSS Morf. This new feature allows you to strip or keep HTML in the code that displays your RSS feed on a site. This basically means that if you check the box all HTML will be stripped out, including links, images, CSS, text effects and media.

The issue was raised by Laura Diehl who is an awesome illustrator, check out her portfolio.

After the raised it I started work on the new tool. Check out the screen shot below if where the new feature is:

If you have any other questions or feature requests please use the contact form.

Thanks

Right, I know that this is probably the wrong way round but I have gone through fixing faults and bugs, still not finished so keep sending me bug reports!

Next on the agenda is accessibility. This is a challenge to me due to the ammunt of AJAX and in a couple of cases possibly having a complete rewrite to make an accessible version of a page. So many things to do. So for now I am aiming for the level 1 accessibility level with a view to going onto level 2.

So if the site suddenly stops working please tell me. It is probably because I am attempting to make something accessible but screwed everyone else over by accident!o

Update: The blog is now XHTML1.0 Transitional compliant and Accessibility standard A too!

Cheers

As I said a few days ago, I will start work on an new Multi-RSS Morf. This will Morf more than one RSS feed into a single feed. I have seen feed agregators but not feed amalgamators. See the difference? One just gives you a user interface to view your feeds nicely layed out, and only for you too. For instance Google Reader will make “shared items” public, but you need to choose every single feed item you want to share, not a full feed. Even if there is a site that does this out there, they do not have the ability to link to the RSS Morf! So this is the unique selling point of this new Morf.

Anybody liking the idea? I definitely have a lot of uses for this. Including getting together all my technology posts into one feed, also having a latest news feed (in my case Sky News and BBC News).

Cheers

Recently I have added quite a few new Podcast and RSS Morfs to my account and needed to differentiate between them. This could only be done by the URL, which got very confusing!

So I have now added a new option to the RSS and Podcast Morf form, called “Name” all you do is enter a sensible name!

Another option that has come to mind if for a teeny fee, being able to remove the “powered by FeedMorf” bit from the bottom of the RSS Morf and also being visible in the Podcast Morf output.

What does everyone think?

Cheers
