New Feature: Fuse Morf Feed Descriptions

Monday, June 16th, 2008

This feature was designed to give a more professional look to the Fuse Morf feeds that get generated. Before this feature was launched the feeds “description” tag had default text that described the feeds that were fused to make this new feed.

This was all well and good unless you wanted tpo disguise the feeds that were used. This then gives you an alternative to that. So all you do is fill in the description box and it will be added to the description tag.

New Feature: Strip HTML From RSS Feeds

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

Right I have been working on a simple yet incredibly useful tool for the RSS Morf. This new feature allows you to strip or keep HTML in the code that displays your RSS feed on a site. This basically means that if you check the box all HTML will be stripped out, including links, images, CSS, text effects and media.

The issue was raised by Laura Diehl who is an awesome illustrator, check out her portfolio.

After the raised it I started work on the new tool. Check out the screen shot below if where the new feature is:

FAQ Is Here

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

I have very quickly put together an FAQ based on the most common questions asked. There are only 3 for now, but I need feedback and suggestions for other questions that need to be answered.

On another not I have removed the forum. Noone uses it and it was a waste having it there. So nobody is going to miss it!

Fuse Morf - New FeedMorf Tool Named!

Monday, January 28th, 2008

I am almost, about 99% sure I am going to call the new multi-RSS amalgamation tool Fuse Morf. This will be fusing together more than 1 RSS feed into a single feed. So it is a combination of fusing and morphing. Hence the name.

If anyone has better suggestions please use the contact form!

The tool shouldn’t be too far away from launching, should be within a week. I was working on it at the weekend then had a problem solving session with Alec, thanks for your patience Alec ;-).

Multi-RSS Morf Coming Soon!

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

As I said a few days ago, I will start work on an new Multi-RSS Morf. This will Morf more than one RSS feed into a single feed. I have seen feed agregators but not feed amalgamators. See the difference? One just gives you a user interface to view your feeds nicely layed out, and only for you too. For instance Google Reader will make “shared items” public, but you need to choose every single feed item you want to share, not a full feed. Even if there is a site that does this out there, they do not have the ability to link to the RSS Morf! So this is the unique selling point of this new Morf.

Anybody liking the idea? I definitely have a lot of uses for this. Including getting together all my technology posts into one feed, also having a latest news feed (in my case Sky News and BBC News).

New Feature! Name Your Feeds

Saturday, January 26th, 2008

Recently I have added quite a few new Podcast and RSS Morfs to my account and needed to differentiate between them. This could only be done by the URL, which got very confusing!

So I have now added a new option to the RSS and Podcast Morf form, called “Name” all you do is enter a sensible name!

Morf Feed Name

Another option that has come to mind if for a teeny fee, being able to remove the “powered by FeedMorf” bit from the bottom of the RSS Morf and also being visible in the Podcast Morf output.

What does everyone think?

FeedMorf Used In New ChannelFlip Facebook App!

Friday, January 25th, 2008

This is an exclusive! Have you watched ChannelFlip? Well if you haven’t head over to ChannelFlip.com and watch some of the shows from the UK Internet TV station.

They have a brand new applciation on Facebook that hasn’t officially launched yet but will be using FeedMorf to show the latest news and latest episodes list on the application. (screenshot below).

ChannelFlip and FeedMorf

This is a nice step forward as its the first big company that have used FeedMorf. Long may it continue.

On other news I am considering an RSS Amalgamator Morf. More of an RSS Merg or Multi-RSS Morf. I might choose one of those names!

FeedMorf Works On The iPhone

Thursday, November 15th, 2007

It is official, I tried it today! FeedMorf officially works on the iPhone’s Safari web browser. You can create, edit and delete Morfs from the iPhone. You can even view your RSS Morfs. Obviously the iPhone will not allow you to use other playlist types but if it did it would work! You can still make them though.

More updates soon!

PS You know what I hate? It’s people who would say “FeedMorf works on iPhone” rather than putting a “the” before the word iPhone! Drive me crazy!

ATOM Feeds Now Supported

Sunday, October 28th, 2007

I have been figuring out the differences between atom and rss today. I needed to find every tag possible in order to begin acceptong atom feeds into the RSS Morf too.

I am now proud to say that FeedMorf supports atom feeds!

Why not give it a go!

More updates soon!
